One of the nicest guys ever. Always had a positive attitude! Hugs to Lori and all his family at this unhappy time. We’ll miss ya, Dave. Till we see you again! (He and Darryl are probably either jamming or blowing up fireworks as I write this.)
I worked with Dave about 40 years ago at Skyharbour Aviation. He was such a nice guy. I remember one day he heard meowing in his car and a cat was in the trunk with her babies (hahaha). He was such a humble, gentle man. I have always remembered him. I’m so glad he had such a great life and a great family.
He was one of the good ones and will be missed. I still remember the rehearsals in the basement of your old house on 127st. Your acreage changed over the years, but it was always warm and welcoming and home of the Wise Acre Music Festivals.
I have fond memories of Dave. Being invited to his summer festivals back in the day. His stories will be remembered and cherished. He was always willing to help out and share his knowledge when it came to aviation equipment. I enjoyed working with him and just visiting. So long my friend.

“Here’s the recording of Uncle Dave. Catchy tune. The source quality was a bit saturated but not bad for over 50 years ago…While saddened, I’m really grateful for Dave’s presence during my formative years. Not sure if he knew how much of an influence he was on me, especially with his sense of humour. Such a cool dude.”
He looked so much like you, Alex. Especially the smile and thumbs up photo. He looks like he was a true character (like you) and really gave to the world.
Always enjoyed the Annual Music Festival…but being keen on kites always enjoyed bringing one to fly should the wind cooperate! As a member of the band, enjoyed the comradery of fellow band members and practising in the drummer’s basement! Rest in Peace Dave.
Dave was one of my favourite people ever. Through aviation, we shared many great adventures and laughter over decades long friendship. I shall miss him. Your dad was extraordinary and I was extremely blessed to share life with him.
Lots of fond memories with Dave on summer holidays…like our cigar tube rockets we built and launched…and just hanging out together during my stay…lots of memories…I remember when Dave met Lori…he was so happy! Bye Dave…
I had met Dave through a mutual friend too many years ago to remember and always enjoyed the Wise Acre Kite and Music Festival. Dave was one of the most straight up people I had ever met. Thank for everything. You’ve earned your rest.
Such beautiful memories of your dad! May you always think of them fondly! Our love and hugs!
My favourite memory of Dave, was when he’d say the faster (and smarter) joke to me, and we’d just laugh our [butts] off. Obviously the music, too. I just love you guys, and I’m going to have a moment today in memory of the Father of Festivus.
Such a beautiful obituary. I can hear his laughter and see his smile. Your dad was truly interested in everyone that he met and he always made me feel like I mattered.
